MinoMonsters
One of Y Combinator’s Winter 2011 class finally launches their iPhone game, MinoMonsters, on the App Store. It’s hard not to link MinoMonsters with Pokemon because both games ask the players to train cute-looking monsters which have special skills and unique personalities. MinoMonsters also has the same adventure and battle gameplay as Pokemon does, and allow players to battle with their friends via the internet.
Can MindMonsters be as successful as Pokemon? We’ll have to wait and see. At least it has triggered an interest from Mark Zuckerberg during one of the Tuesdays dinners part of the Y Combinator Boot Camp program.
During the dinner, Zuckerberg will take an interest in one particular YC company, which is building a social Pokèmon-style game called MinoMonsters—and urge its founders to work harder on a Facebook-compatible version.
If you’re interested to try the game, it’s available in the App Store for $.99.
